| Increasingly clients are appointing the Quantity Surveyor as the Project Manager to lead the construction team on major building projects. Since McNaughts have been acting as Employers Agent many clients have seen it as a natural progression to appoint them as their Project Manager. McNaughts have vast experience of all forms of contract including the standard J.C.T. contracts, N.E.C. and I.C.E contracts, P.P.C. 2000 and other multi-partnering contracts. We see the role of Project Manager in a very pro-active sense ensuring that all contract documentation is in place, each member of the design team has a brief with terms of appointment, and realistic programmes are devised for the project as a whole. We do not usurp the design teams authority but ensure that they fulfil their obligations in an expedient manner. Being impartial we can provide that all important single point of contact between the Employer and the construction team. Recent projects that McNaughts have Project Managed are multi-million pound office blocks and production units at Bournemouth International Airport and the Royal National Lifeboat Institutions College and Survival Centre in Poole. |  |
