| Since the inception of the JCT Standard Form of Contract with Contractors Design in 1980 McNaughts have been undertaking the role of Employers Agent. Although most of our clients using this form of contract tend to be Housing Associations or corporate identities we have on many occasions introduced this method of procurement to small companies or private individuals embarking on their first major building project. McNaughts prides itself on its ability to guide clients with no previous building construction knowledge through the intricacies of the contract. Its success depends on accurate preparation of the Employers Requirements document detailing exactly what is essential to the Employer within the design, whilst leaving the remaining design to Contractors and making use of their practical building experience. The contract can also be used to obtain competitive tenders for projects and McNaughts have considerable experience of this, handling some millions of pounds of work procured under this means each year. Clients for whom we currently act as Employers Agent include National Health Service Trusts throughout the U.K., Housing Associations, Public Schools, Commercial Developers and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. | |
